Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, you have automatic guarantees when you purchase goods or services from us in New Zealand. These guarantees cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified.
Acceptable Quality Guarantee
All furniture and props we provide must be of acceptable quality. This means they must be:
- Fit for all the purposes for which goods of that type are commonly supplied
- Acceptable in appearance and finish
- Free from minor defects
- Safe and durable
If items do not meet these standards, you have the right to have them repaired, replaced, or receive a refund.
Fitness for Purpose Guarantee
If you make known to us the particular purpose for which you require the goods, and you rely on our skill or judgment, the goods must be reasonably fit for that purpose.
For example, if you tell us you need furniture for an outdoor event, we must ensure the items are suitable for outdoor use.
Service Guarantees
When you use our rental services, we guarantee that:
- Services will be carried out with reasonable care and skill
- Services will be completed within a reasonable time (if no time is specified)
- Services will be provided at a reasonable price (if no price is agreed)
Fair Trading Act 1986
We comply with the Fair Trading Act 1986, which prohibits misleading and deceptive conduct, false representations, and unfair trading practices. All information we provide about our products and services is accurate and truthful.
Your Remedies
If we fail to meet our guarantees, you may be entitled to:
- Repair or replacement of goods
- Refund of all or part of the price
- Compensation for any loss or damage
